- About Shellit
-
- Shellit is a GUI program that works with McAfee's Scan, SEA's Arc, and
- PKWare's PKUnzip. It removes the need to remember and type in command line
- switches for the most common activities with these programs. The switches used
- by Shellit are -v, -e and -x for PKUnzip (dependant on the version of PKUnzip),
- /a and /m for Scan, and v and e for Arc.
- PKUnzip versions 1.x and 0.x use -x for the extraction switch. Version 2.x
- use -e. All versions to date use -v for viewing the contents of a zip file.
- Scan uses /a to scan all files, regardless of file type, and /m to scan all
- system memory (RAM). Arc uses x to extract files from an archive, and v to view
- the contents of an archive.
-
- How to Use Shellit
-
- When Shellit is ran for the first time, the program looks for a
- configuration file (shellit.cfg) in the same directory that shellit.exe is in.
- If it cannot find the configuration file, one will be created. The program will
- automatically search the default drive for PKZIP.EXE, PKUNZIP.EXE, ARC.EXE,
- SCAN.EXE, and SHELLIT.EXE. These pathnames ill be saved in SHELLIT.CFG. The
- PKZIP\UNZIP version number will be set to the default value of 2. Video lines
- will be set to a default value of 25, and the color scheme will be set to the
- default of white text, blue background, blue window, and red cursor. These
- values will also be saved in SHELLIT.CFG. To change any of them, select edit
- configuration from the options menu, and then select the appropriate value from
- the field window.
